TEHRAN - Yadollah Tahernejad, a member to the Servants of Construction Party, has said that reformists plan to establish a parliament in the second half of the current Iranian calendar year after receiving permission from the Interior Ministry.

The second half of the calendar year begins on September 23.

“All the issues related to declaring position and the reform faction’s policy making will be delivered to the reform parliament after it starts its job,” he told Mehr news agency in an interview published on Monday.

Tahernejad also said that about two thirds of the charter of the reform parliament have been approved.

“The general mechanism is that the secretary generals of the reform parties and groups and a number of the parties’ central council members will be at the reform parliament,” he explained.

He also said that the reform parliament will have 500 members.

“The reform parliament will have one central council which will hold meetings monthly. The assembly of the reform parliament will hold meeting two times in a year to approve the general policies of the reformists, and after that the central council will follow to implement approved policies,” he stated.

Elsewhere, he said that leaders of reformists will be replaced with the reform parliament.

He also regretted sudden price rises, especially in the gold and foreign currency markets, blaming inefficiency and indiscretion by officials.

Tahernejad said technocrats in the construction party cannot “remain silent” toward such price volatilities.

He also said it has become difficult for parliament representatives to talk directly to the president.

“Even the (pro-reform) Hope faction has not succeeded to have a direct meeting with the president.”

In his interview, the construction party member said Rouhani made a lot of efforts for clinching the nuclear agreement but unfortunately it was not welcomed by the public.
